Newborn Baby Found in Trash Can at California Gas Station

According to People, Venissa Maldonado has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after her 1-hour-old baby was found in a gas station trash can on Thursday, March, 10. She was accused of fleeing the scene and faces an additional charge of felony child abuse, according to a Fullerton Police Department press release. 

CBS News reports that Fullerton Police were alerted after the gas station clerk found the baby boy in the trash can. Life-saving measures were conducted upon arrival and the child is in stable, but critical condition. 

It has not been released if Maldonado has entered a plea deal or retained an attorney.
