Mississippi Father Kills Estranged Wife, Son, and Former Daughter-In-Law Before Taking His Own Life
Mississippi father Thomas Griswold, 64, has been accused of killing his estranged wife, 64-year-old Veronica Griswold, as well as their son Bjorn Griswold, 36, and Bjorn’s ex-wife Jillian Pavolini, 39, last Thursday evening before taking his own life.
The murder-suicide occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. at a home in the Latimer community. The home was located on Oak View Circle.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Ezell said deputies responded to a 911 call after receiving reports of a shooting. When the deputy arrived at the scene, a single gunshot was heard inside according to WLOX. Police now believe that is when the suspect took his own life.
Tributes from the victim’s loved ones began soon after they were identified by police through a press briefing and Facebook post by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. One person wrote about Pavolini that she was “literally the sweetest person with the kindest heart.”
Others described Veronica as a peacemaker, and that she “left this world doing her best to bring peace [sic] to an uncomfortable situation. Another tribute from one of Bjorn’s friends mentioned how he was hoping to reconnect with him before he was killed.
Police have not yet revealed a motive for the shooting.
