Bone of Missing Mother Found 20 Years Later
Stephanie Nguyen, 26, disappeared in 2002 with her two children Kristina Nguyen, 4, and John Nguyen, 3, after leaving a note stating she was going to drive her SUV into the Ohio River.
According to WLWT, police began investigating the case, but after no findings, the case went cold until it was recently reopened by the Delhi Township Police Department.
Almost two decades later in October 2021, Nguyen’s SUV was found in the Ohio River. Recovered from the vehicle was a fibula bone. After lab analysis, on Jan. 7th, police revealed the bone belonged to Stephanie Nguyen. Cameron McCreary, Dearborn County Coroner, stated that since the fibula bone was the only remain(s) recovered from the vehicle, the children would still be listed as missing persons until their remains are located or the family declares them as legally dead through court.
