Missing: Eleven Year Old Madalina Cojocari

Missing: Eleven Year Old Madalina Cojocari

Madalina Cojocari has been missing since Nov. 21, 2022. The eleven year old was last seen on surveillance video getting off her school bus outside her home in Cornelius, North Carolina and has not been seen since, according to the footage provided by the FBI

Bailey Middle School resource officers and a school counsellor attempted a home visit at the Cojocaris’ address on December 12th after Madalina had not shown up for school since November 21. No one answered and the officers left a truancy packet at the front door.

According to Fox News, an affidavit filed in Mecklenburg County revealed that Madalina's disappearance was finally made known to the police on Dec.15, 2022. Mother Diana Cojocari told officials at Bailey Middle School that she hadn’t seen her daughter since the night of Nov. 23, 2022 after she and her husband Christopher Palmiter got into an argument.

When asked by detectives why she waited almost a month to report her eleven year old daughter missing, Diana Cojocari said, "she was worried it might start a ‘conflict’ between her and Palmiter.” According to Fox News, both Cojocari and Palmiter have been arrested and charged with failure to report a missing child to law enforcement.

On Jan. 6, the Cornelius Police Department asked the public for any information about any sightings of Diana Cojocari or a light green Toyota Prius between Nov. 22 and Dec.15 to help narrow down the timeline of the eleven year old’s disappearance. The timeline of her disappearance still remains unclear.

The search for Madalina Cojocari remains ongoing and the FBI is currently assisting the Cornelius Police Department with their search.
