Man Accused of ‘Vicious’ Attack on Arizona Woman After Spotted Running on Camera
Zion Teasley, 22, has been arrested and is suspected of murdering Lauren Heike, 29, who was attacked from behind on a hiking trail. Teasley is the alleged suspect that was caught on camera fleeing the hiking trail, according to People.
CNN reports that authorities collected several items of evidence and hours of video for their investigation. Prosecutors allege that DNA and cell phone evidence linked Teasley to Heike’s murder, and that the attack may have been premeditated.
Prosecutors also allege that Teasley purchased a plane ticket and planned to flee to Detroit just six days after the murder.
Heike’s body was found by a passerby in an area of the trail that wasn’t too visible. An exact cause of death hasn’t been public.
Teasley’s bond has been set to $1 Million and he is due back in court on May 11.
