Kansas Shooting Leaves One Teen Dead, and Another Wounded

A teenage boy has died and a teenage girl has been taken to a local hospital after both were shot at the Silverwood Apartments in Mission, Kansas.

Officers responded to the shooting at about 8:50 p.m. on Sunday evening to the parking lot of the apartment building, located in the 5100 block of Foxridge Drive. Arriving officers found the teens in the parking lot. The boy was declared dead at the scene, per the Kansas City Star.

According to the official Twitter account for the city, the female victim is expected to survive. They have also discovered that neither were a resident of Mission.

Police have not released the names of either victim at this time, neither has any suspect information. Police say they are searching for a sport utility vehicle which was seen speeding from the scene.
