A Florida grandfather, David Towner, was charged with one count of child neglect after a Hertz rental car employee discovered a toddler in the returned car lot. The child was reported to be in good health when checked by paramedics.

The toddler had been in the locked car for about forty-five minutes before being discovered by an employee at Hertz rental car company in the Daytona Beach National Airport, according to FOX News. The employee freed the child and was seen carrying her by the time the paramedics arrived on the scene after six p.m. on Monday. The child’s mother had been told by Towner that the toddler was at home with his roommate, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal.

At the time of his arrest, Towner was compliant with authorities and did not resist arrest. Towner faced charges of one count of child neglect, with a bail set for $2500. He has also been told not to contact the child.
