Cousin of BLM Co-founder Dies from Cardiac Arrest After Being Tased by LAPD

Keenan Anderson, cousin of Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors, died from cardiac arrest just hours after being tased and restrained by Los Angeles police, according to People.

People claims that in a press release from the Los Angeles Police Department, Anderson was repeatedly shocked with a taser during a struggle with officers after he allegedly fled from police following a car crash in Venice.

The Guardian claims that Anderson can be heard saying “they’re trying to George Floyd me” from body cam footage as one officer had his elbow on Anderson’s neck while he was lying down and the other tased him for roughly 30 seconds straight before taking a pause and continuing to tase him for an additional five seconds.

Shortly after the tasing, Anderson was hospitalized, and according to LAPD, he went into cardiac arrest four and half hours later and died, according to The Guardian.
