Pennsylvania Man Allegedly Stalked Ex-Girlfriend Using an Apple Airtag

Pennsylvania State Police say 58-year-old Ronald D. Roessler allegedly stalked his ex-girlfriend using an Apple Airtag tracking device hidden on her vehicle according to court records.

The woman went to police after receiving notifications about an Airtag device was tracking her, and she didn’t own one according to the Tribune Live. An examination of her vehicle showed the device to be attached to the inside of a metal trailer hitch.

Further investigations show Roessler allegedly owned the device. When first questioned, he claimed it was a mistake, and denied his involvement. Before handing his phone to police, Roessler allegedly deleted the tracking app off of his phone.

The victim already had a Protection From Abuse Order against Roessler, according to KDKA.

Roessler was was arrested and arraigned on two counts of stalking and single charges of loitering, prowling, and tampering with evidence according to state police in Kiski.

Roessler was arraigned on a $10,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing on February 22. According to online court documents, Roessler has no prior arrests in Pennsylvania and does not have an attorney listed for future court proceedings.
