A 4-month-old baby is orphaned after a shooting in Connecticut

On June 19, authorities responded to a 911 call about a shooting. At the scene, police found three victims: an unidentified woman, 39-year-old Chase Garrett, and 27-year-old Christina Dang. By the time the police arrived, Garrett and Dang were declared dead.

The couple were celebrating Garrett’s first Father’s Day with their 4-month-old baby boy.

According to the New York Post, Chase Garrett and Christina Dang were having a dispute with a neighbor over a dog when they were shot and killed in the driveway of their family home in Hartford, Connecticut.

Garrett and Dang’s 4-month-old baby is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.

The third female victim is unidentified but remains in critical condition at the hospital. Hartford Police Chief Jason Thody announced at the press conference that the woman is in her twenties and lives in the same house as Garrett and Dang.

Police have identified a person of interest in the shooting, but no one has been taken into custody.

The Hartford Police Department encourages anyone with information about the shooting to call 860-722-8477.
