7-Year-Old Attacked By Neighbor's Dog

7-year-old, Conner Landers, was reportedly getting off the school bus when he was attacked by his neighbor’s dog late January in Azle, Texas.

According to People and authorities, the boxer/bull-mastiff, escaped his yard and attacked Landers. Potential reasons for the attack are unknown. Authorities stated that Patti Jean Bell-Neveling, 49, the dog’s owner, attempted to stop the attack, but ran back into her yard once the dog began to approach her.

The boy escaped the attack when another neighbor intervened by hitting the dog with a large stick. Landers was rushed to the hospital and has been making a “slow recovery.”

Bell-Neveling was arrested on last Monday (Feb. 7) on the charge of a third-degree felony of attack by a dog resulting in serious bodily injury.

The dog was then “humanely euthanized.”
