Father of Four Shot as a Result of a Suspected Hate Crime
A father of four was shot in the face while holding his daughter on Saturday evening, Fox News reports.The man, whose name has not been released, was inside of his home when the shooting occurred.The man's husband, identified as Jimmie, stated that "I'm playing the 'why' game right now because we don't talk to anybody really aside from our immediate neighbors, so I'm trying to figure out if it's because we're gay. I just can't believe this is random,"The perpetrator fired into the couple's home around 10 times. The man who was shot was reported to have a fractured jaw and lost all of his teeth. He was last reported in stable condition.Fox News reports that "Oakland Police did not say whether they are investigating the shooting as a hate crime but did say the investigation is ongoing, and police "do not have any other details to release at this time."
