Kentucky Mom Charged After Son Found Dead In Trunk
A Louisville woman was charged with murder after the body of her 10-year-old son was found inside the trunk of her car Tuesday night. Officials charged Kaitlyn Renee Higgins, 28, with tampering with evidence and domestic violence. Police responded to a 911 call around 8:45 p.m. that described a woman with a gun clutching a boy wrapped in a blanket. They then discovered her on the porch of the house on Algonquin Parkway, with blood on the steps. According to WDRB Media, officers opened the trunk of Higgins’ car and found the boy’s body. Additionally, Higgins admitted to trying to cut her son’s tongue out and shooting him. Authorities booked Higgins in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, and are holding her on a $250,000 cash bond. According to WAVE 3 News, she will appear in court Thursday morning.
