Woman Strangles Her Girlfriend With Cord After Failed Hit Order
Jennifer Sweeney, 38, was sentenced to a total of 95 years in prison after ordering a failed hit on her girlfriend, Tyrita Julius, 41, then strangling her with a cord and burying her body in a backyard after believing Julius was cheating on her.
Suspicion began in 2015 after Julius’ car was found after it hit a utility pole. Inside, Julius and her daughter were both found shot by Andre Harris. Julius was shot a total of eight times, but she and her daughter survived.
Later, in 2016, Julius was reported missing by her mother. According to police, Sweeney once again came in contact with her lover and strangled her to death with a cord. Then, with the help of Andre Harris, buried Julius in Harris’ backyard.
Both Sweeney and Harris were found guilty. Harris received 16 years in prison and Sweeney received 75 years for murder with an additional 20 years for the first attempt to kill Julius.
