Washington RV Fire Becomes Homicide Investigation

The investigation of how a fire started which was believed to have killed 41-year-old Dustin Burrows has now been declared a likely homicide.

In a release from the Spokane, Washington Fire Department, on March 6, 2022 at 1:53 a.m., they were dispatched to the 700 block of West Rockwell Avenue to a 911 call which reported. a vehicle on fire.

Inside, firefighters found the body of Dustin Burrows. First responders initially believed Burrows died due to the fire. The Spokane County Medical Examiner determined that Burrows is believed to have died after being shot multiple times.

One person has been arrested. Detectives from Spokane’s Major Crimes unit has taken over the investigation of this case, which remains active. Police Department spokeswoman Julie Humphreys said that it was likely the fire was started to cover up the homicide.
