Political Donor Ed Buck Sentenced to 30 Years for Fatally Drugging Two Men

Democratic donor Ed Buck, 67, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted on charges relating to the overdose deaths of two men that occurred in his Los Angeles home.

Gemelle Moore, 26, was found dead from an overdose in Buck’s apartment in 2017. Two years later in 2019, Timothy Dean was found dead in the same apartment from an overdose. The New York Times reports that Buck would inject his victims “with syringes full of methamphetamine, sometimes while they were unconscious.”

According to NBC News, prosecutors were hoping for Buck to receive a life sentence, saying that “he preyed on the vulnerable—often young and Black men—for his sexual fetish.”
