Parents of Laundrie Request FBI Turn Over Notebook

On Thursday October 21, 2021 the partial remains of Brian Laundrie were found in Florida’s Carleton Reserve by his father Chris Laundrie and a FBI agent when pursuing a search in the reserve. Among the personal belongings found next to him such as a backpack and clothes was also a notebook. The FBI took the notebook into evidence and have yet to release what was written inside the notebook but have stated that it is crucial to the case.

The Laundrie family has made a request to the FBI for ownership of the notebook and to get it back in their possession. The family has said that they would like the notebook back as part of their formal proceeding to gain control of Brian’s estate with is worth about $20,000. Attorney Steven Bertolino made a statement to reporters stating that the FBI will handover the notebook once the case is closed.

Nichole Schmidt the mother of 22 year old Gabby Petito has also put a request forward to get all of her daughters belongings back which may be with police or inside the Laundrie home. Officials say that both families are working together to get what belongings the Laundrie family has back to her mother.

The murder of Gabby Petito is still open, police say they were just looking to question Laundrie about the murder when he disappeared. There is still no evidence on what had happened the night Gabby died. Autopsy did confirm that Gabby had died of strangulation and Brian had died from a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head.
