Jennifer Faith, the woman who convinced her lover to murder her husband, has been sentenced to life in prison

American Airlines technology director, James Faith, was murdered on October 9, 2020, while on a walk with his wife, Jennifer Lynn Faith, and their dog, Maggie. A few months later, Jennifer Faith was arrested on a charge of murder-for-hire, and as of June 21, 2022, Jamie Lynn Faith has been sentenced to life in prison for orchestrating the murder of her husband.

The couple were outside their home in Oak Clifford when Darrin Ruben Lopez, 49, shot James Faith seven times: three times in the torso, one time in the groin, and three times in the head.

David Ruben Lopez was Jennifer Faith’s high school sweetheart. The pair rekindled their romance in March 2020 after reconnecting through social media.

Authorities say Jennifer Faith manipulated Lopez into killing her husband by claiming she was being physically and sexually abused at home. According to the Department of Justice, Jennifer admitted to chatting with Lopez via email, impersonating her late husband and one of her friends. In certain emails, Jennifer would attach images of injuries that she found on the internet.

In plea papers, Jennifer Faith admitted she was never abused by her late husband.

The U.S. Attorney reported that Jennifer Faith used Lopez’s brain injury to her advantage, an injury he endured while serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq.

A few months later, in February 2021, Jennifer was charged with obstruction of justice, and in September 2021, they charged her with murder-for-hire.

In February 2022, Jennifer Faith pleaded guilty to arranging the murder of her husband.

On Monday, June 21, 2022, Faith was sentenced to life in federal prison and was ordered to pay a $250,000 fine and $6,500 for the funeral expenses of her late husband, according to CBS News.

Darrin Ruben Lopez was arrested on January 11, 2021, on a murder charge and a federal gun charge.

Lopez pleaded not guilty to both charges.
