California Father Allegedly Tries to Drown 2-Year-Old Daughter

Timothy Ryan Shipman, 42, of California, was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly tried to drown his 2-year-old daughter in a pond.

Deputies were called at about noon to the Pali Adventures Camp in Running Springs, according to the Los Angeles Times. There, they found Shipman on the grounds located in the 30700 block of Highway 18. He reportedly lied to campground employees to gain access to the grounds.

Shipman allegedly locked his 5-year-old son in his vehicle before he attempted to drown his 2-year-old daughter. Employees of the camp managed to stop Shipman and take care of both children as officers arrived.

The children were taken to a local hospital and were considered stable Wednesday. Shipman was also taken to a different local hospital before being released into police custody.

Upon investigation of his home, additional evidence regarding the case was found. He was arrested on charges of attempted murder and given a bail of $1 million according to KTLA.
