Body Found in Trunk of Car in Detroit During a Traffic Stop
On the night of July 2nd, undercover officers from the Detroit Police Department decided to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving a drug house. They pulled the car over in search of narcotics, instead they found the body of a deceased individual.
The two people in the car were quickly arrested. The person in the passenger seat tried to run off on foot, but police were able to catch up with them. The vehicle was unregistered with no insurance and expired tags.
The body was found in the trunk of the car around 11:45 p.m. that night. Preliminary evidence from the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office suggests that the victim didn’t sustain any outward signs of trauma. Toxicology reports are being done to determine the cause of death. The body has yet to be identified.
This is still an active homicide investigation.
