911 Caller Believed Burning Body Was Mannequin Prompting Homicide Investigation

A dead body that witnesses believed was a burning mannequin was found in an open field in Ruskin, Florida this weekend.

The New York Post states that after spotting the burning body, someone called 911. The 911 report alleged that a burning mannequin was spotted in a field, but upon firefighters arriving at the scene, it was discovered that the “mannequin” was a person.

An investigation, which is being ruled a homicide, has been launched, and investigator’s are trying to identify the victim; due to the severity of the burns, identifying the body is difficult. Authorities have determined that the victim suffered upper body trauma, per Law and Crime.
