Ten-Year-Old Boy Dies After Getting into Fight with Another Kid at California Trampoline Park
Merced Police Department is investigating the death of 10-year-old Anthony Duran’s death inside Rockin’ Jump Trampoline Park this week in California. People reports, the boy collapsed last Thursday night after he got into a fight with another child while they were playing basketball. The other child ran away afterward. The young boy was transported to a local hospital but did not survive.
According to WMBF, the altercation between the two kids was caught on the trampoline park’s security camera. Investigators are reviewing the incident to determine if charges will be filed and have interviewed 35 witnesses at the scene. Authorities have also been in contact with the other child’s parents.
Family members of Anthony Duran told Fox26 News they have yet to review security footage and are frustrated that police have not taken quicker action. "He's gone, and he's not coming back. Why? Why are they taking this long to do something? Why were there 10 police officers here the day of the incident and supposedly it was a medical issue," Duran's aunt Angela Reyes told the outlet.
It is unclear whether charges have been filed in Duran’s death or if a cause of death has been determined. Merced County Coroner’s Office stated they will be performing an autopsy.
