Tim Burton Joins Netflix in Live-Action Wednesday Addams Series

Tim Burton, the gothic-horror film god, will direct Netflix's new series on Wednesday Addams. Rumors began in October that Burton would take on this cult-classic adaptation. According to IndieWire,  the eight-episode series will follow present day Wednesday navigating her way through the supernatural Nevermore Academy. Titled "Wednesday," the show will also surround her newfound psychic abilities and a captivating cold case involving her parents. And, with most shows surrounding high-schoolers, Wednesday will be dealing with troubling relationships with her fellow classmates.Andrew Mittman, Kevin Miserocchi and Gail Berman, known for 2019's "The Addams Family," will produce the series. Joining them are Kayla Alpert ("Confessions of a Shopaholic") and Jonathan Glickman ("27 Dresses"). Additionally, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, known for "Spider-Man 2" and "Shanghai Noon" will be a part of this star-studded production team.According to Screen Rant, there are a few possibilities for who can take on the such a role. Isla Johnson, known for playing the young Beth in "Queen's Gambit," is up for consideration along with Marsai Martin from "Black-ish" and Julia Butters from "Once Upon a Time...In Hollywood." Additionally, the popular Mckenna Grace from "The Haunting of Hill House" and Dafne Keen from "Logan" are possibilities.
