Twenty-Six-Year-Old Woman Found Stabbed Outside Her New York Home

Tkeyah LaPlante was stabbed multiple times outside her home in Mohawk, NY., on Jan.4, 2023. According to the Times Telegram, New York State and Mohawk Police found the mother of three with multiple wounds to her chest shortly after 2:30 pm. She was immediately taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica.

According to Syracuse.com, troopers found 21-year-old Taylor Goodhines nearby the crime scene and she was arrested without incident. Tkeyah LaPlante was listed in critical condition at the time of the arrest and passed on Jan. 6, 2023. 

Goodhines was charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Times Telegram. The 21-year-old is currently being held at Herkimer County Jail on $150,000 cash bail or $300,000 bond. It is unclear whether the charges have been updated or if Goodhines has obtained an attorney. 

According to People, LaPlante’s family is raising money for her three children through a GoFundMe account.
