Suspects Indicted in Murder-For-Hire Plot
An Alabama jury indicted five suspects in connection to the murder-for-hire death of Anthony Larry Sheppard. Logan McKinley Delp, 36, Aaron Howard, 40, Jaclyn Skuce, 38, LaJuhn Keith Smart, 25, and Angela Stolz, 34, face three counts of capital murder. Police officers conducted a welfare check for Sheppard July 24, 2020 and discovered his body with multiple gunshot wounds. According to WAAY, Skuce and Sheppard had a daughter together. The two were supposed to appear in court to settle a custody battle. However, when Sheppard failed to appear in court, officials conducted the welfare check.Skuce allegedly hired Delp to kill Sheppard, according to WHNT. Additionally, the others played some role in the plot.The first murder charge is related to the murder-for-hire plot. The second charge comes from murdering a witness to appear in court, and the final charge for murder as a result of shooting into an occupied dwelling.All five received no bond for release.
