Suspects Arrested in Connection with Disappearance of Kristin Smart

Authorities arrested two suspects Tuesday morning for the 1996 disappearance of Kristin Smart. Paul Flores, 44, has been the prime suspect of the case for years, according to CNN. Officers obtained a search warrant in 2020 to look through Flores' home, and found numerous "items of interest." They booked Flores on murder charges with no bail. Along with arresting Paul Flores, his father, 80-year-old Ruben Flores, was charged with accessory to murder. Both suspects are expected to appear in court Thursday.

There are a few descriptors that come to mind when journalists think of Ronald Tammen. Wrestler, jazz musician, frat boy and residence hall counselor, to name a few. But there is more to this enigmatic 19-year-old that meets the eye. Other adjectives for Ron include "nice, smart, and studious." Nothing less of a sophomore at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Which is why his disappearance just makes no sense.

The Cleveland Torso Murders

From 1934-1938, the brutal murders of 13 individuals ravaged the city of Cleveland, Ohio. The case is famously known as "The Cleveland Torso Murders," because none of the victims' bodies were intact. Each victim was beheaded and dismembered, leaving only their torsos to be discovered by the public. Officials positively identified only two of the victims, and to this day, no one knows who the killer is for certain.
