Factoring in time he has already served, Donald Fleurival, 46, was left on Wednesday to serve a four-year prison term. According to court records, Quebec Superior Court Justice Hélène Di Salvo delivered the sentence via video link-up between the Montreal courthouse and a provincial detention centre where he was held.

A Utah man who was in a love triangle and mistakenly killed a Virginia elementary school teacher was sentenced Friday to 22 years in prison.

Ed Shaw, 72, was sentenced after pleading guilty in October to second-degree murder in the death of Caroline Hendrix, The Virginian-Pilot reported.

In a matter of weeks, Poughkeepsie mom Nikki Addimando could become the first person in New York state to receive a lighter murder sentence under a new law that shields survivors of domestic abuse.

In April, a jury found Addimando guilty of second-degree murder of 29-year-old Christopher Grover — her live-in boyfriend and the father of her two children.

The mother of Sophie Lancaster says she believes there is “no justice” as one of her daughter’s killers had his minimum jail term cut.

Ryan Herbert, then 16, was one of two men handed life sentences for murdering Sophie, 20, who died of her injuries after being savagely beaten along with her boyfriend in a park in Lancashire in 2007.

In a crime that shook the nation Sophie and boyfriend Rob Maltby were targeted by “feral thugs” because they were members of the goth subculture and “looked and dressed differently.”

CALGARY – Edward Downey was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 50 years for the 2016 killing of a Calgary mother and her young daughter.

He joins a list of multiple murderers who have been sentenced to serve more than 25 years before they are eligible for parole.
