Woman Allegedly Killed State Senator Who ‘Was Like A Sister’ To Her For Money

The decomposing body of former Republican lawmaker Linda Collins-Smith, 57,  was found outside of her Pocahontas home in June of 2019. She had been shot. Her close friend Rebecca Lynn O’Donnell, 49, who once campaigned for her, was arrested the same month and charged with capital murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence. She has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been held on no bond since.

Three tourists died in the last three days after collapsing at the festival venue at Vagator beach in North Goa district. Asked about criticism of the government for allowing the event in the state, Gawade said, “The government is not forcing the youth to go and attend the Sunburn festival. They go on their own. No one is forced to go there.”

U.S. citizen arrested during protests in Nicaragua killed in prison shooting

The prisoner, Eddy Montes, was a U.S. citizen, his cousin Paola Montenegro told Reuters, after Nicaraguan media published photos of what appeared to be his U.S. passport. The U.S. embassy in Nicaragua condemned the use of lethal force against Montes, calling him a political prisoner in a post on social media. The Nicaraguan interior ministry had said in an earlier statement Montes had family who were of foreign nationality but gave no further detail.
