In Marysville, Ohio a young mother named Patricia “Patti” Adkins told friends and family that she was sneaking away for a trip with her secret lover. But then she was never seen again.
Brandon Shaw, 35, reported Sierra Kathleen Henderson Ashburn, 28, missing the morning of Wednesday, May 6, according to a statement from the Surry County Sheriff’s Office.
Later that same day, detectives from the sheriff’s office drove out the couple’s Mount Airy home to follow up with Shaw and began asking him questions about the disappearance, The Mount Airy News reports.
Authorities said Shaw provided “details” that led them to find Ashburn’s body buried on the property.
