According to NBC News, two people were killed by the suspect and another individual was injured in three separate shootings in the Los Angeles area. The shootings each occurred within minutes of each other, said police.
Late Thursday night, several people were shot at the FedEx Ground Plainfield Operations Center located near the Indianapolis International Airport.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department received reports of an active shooter situation shortly before 11:10 p.m.
Reports to the public indicate that the gunman died at the scene, fatally taking his own life.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson, Genae Cook, shared in a briefing around 3 a.m. that eight people were found shot dead at the scene.
Four victims were transported to a local hospital. One of whom had critical injuries. Two others were treated at the scene and released.
A number of others walked to nearby hospitals to receive medical care.
The investigation remains ongoing.
