As Black Lives Matter protests continued across the U.S. and the world this week, two Black transgender women were killed within a 24-hour period. Riah Milton of Liberty Township, Ohio was shot several times during a robbery attempt on Tuesday, and Dominique Rem’mie Fells’s remains were found alongside the Schuylkill River in the Bartam’s Garden area of Philadelphia Monday night.
Four Minnesota police officers have been fired after the death of a black man who was taken into custody and seen on video being pinned down by his neck. Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said the four officers were now “former employees”.
Footage shows the man, George Floyd, groaning and repeatedly saying “I can’t breathe” to the white officer.
The incident echoed that of Eric Garner, a black man who died being arrested in New York City in 2014.
The FBI has said it will investigate the Minneapolis incident, which took place on Monday evening.
Two women out on an evening walk were killed in a road accident in Mutaga village near Belagavi on Sunday night. Vidya Patil (45) and Savita Balappa (47) were killed and another woman, who was with them, suffered injuries. She is under treatment at the civil hospital. A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered at the Marihal Police Station against Yuvaraj Jadhav, president of the BJP Yuva Morcha unit.
A TEENAGE boy has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in South London, police have said.
The victim was found in Albany Road near Burgess Park in Southwark shortly after 6.30pm. His condition is now known at this stage. Officers erected a cordon at the scene and at least two ambulances attended.
Footage posted on social media show an air ambulance landing in a green area, believed to be the nearby Burgess Park.

A 43-year-old man has been charged with murder following the “sudden death” of a four-year-old girl in Brisbane. A crime scene was declared in Bent Street, Cannon Hill, in the city’s east around 9.30am Monday.
Police and emergency services were called, but the child was found dead.
Officers immediately launched an investigation, questioning family, and calling for anyone with information to contact police.
Late on Monday night police announced they had made an arrest. The man was denied bail and was due to appear in Brisbane magistrates court on Tuesday.
