Covington Faces 52-Count Indictment

After an arraignment on Wednesday, notorious New York City “Subway Attacker” Khari Covington is now facing a 52-count indictment against him for burglary, assault and strangulation as hate crimes. Covington allegedly targeted “light-skinned women” during a string of attacks that occurred between August 2020 and January 4 in Brooklyn’s East Williamsburg neighborhood. Most of the attacks happened in the Morgan Avenue subway station, but one took place near the station and another at a smoke shop.

Derges Indicted For Selling Fake Stem Cell Treatments

Patricia Derges, a Missouri state representative, has been indicted for allegedly selling fake stem cell treatments for several different diseases, including Covid-19. Derges, 63, injected clients of Ozark Valley Medical Clinic with amniotic fluid that she claimed contained stem cells. According to the grand jury indictment that was unsealed on Monday, these “regenerative” treatments were actually acellular (sans stem cells).

Following an investigation into a deadly 2019 drug raid, nine police officers from the Houston Police Department narcotics squad were discovered to have been stealing overtime money from the department and have since been charged. Although the investigation into the alleged money scheme is ongoing, an audit of the narcotics unit from July 2020 did find that the officers rarely carried out thorough investigations and often overpaid informants for the seizure of minuscule amounts of drugs.
