The double shooting occurred early Wednesday morning in Lake Park, Florida and resulted in the serious injury of a man that was transported to a local hospital from the scene, and the death of another man who was found “a short distance away” in the city of West Palm Beach.
Jesse Aylward was confirmed as Virginia Hannon’s killer on Thursday after DNA evidence connected him to the crime scene of Hannon’s brutal death on February 13, 1984. Jasmin Cigarroa’s husband, Jonathan Nuno Mijangos, was arrested on first-degree murder charges after his wife’s remains were discovered on Friday morning. Two men were arrested and charged with the murder of a 19-year-old houseless woman that was found wrapped in plastic in Manhattan’s Fulton Fish Market this weekend. Lawrence Paul Anderson, who was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and a single count of felony maiming and assault with a deadly weapon this week, asked to be held in the Grady County Jail without bail. Florida resident Trodarius Rainey was found dead Monday morning after he and his girlfriend suspiciously disappeared last Wednesday. The 26-year-old was discovered in a wooded area of Lake Jesup Park in Sanford, Florida just before 10 a.m. His death is currently being investigated as a homicide and police are continuing to search for his girlfriend, 35-year-old Tiffany Church.

Luis Rodriguez-Mena was extradited from Mexico and arrested by Des Plaines, Illinois police on Thursday for the 1999 murder of flight attendant Young Kavila. Kavila, 30, was killed on November 30, 1999 after arriving in Chicago on a flight. She headed to her apartment in Des Plaines around 10 p.m., where Rodriguez-Mena had allegedly been waiting for her, and was attacked in her kitchen.
Authorities arrested a Las Vegas woman on Monday after running over her ex-boyfriend with her car. The tragic event took place on Tuesday, November 24 at 9:43 pm when officers and paramedics arrived at a condominium complex at 4110 Sanderling Circle, near West Desert Inn Road and South Arville Street.

Matthew Mercado, 37, was charged Friday with second degree murder in the death of his ex-girlfriend Jessica Lopez. Lopez went missing on November 3, 2019 and was last seen at the Windsor Motel in Orange County, New York. Her car was found abandoned in the parking lot of a Newburgh movie theater shortly after her disappearance, but her body was never found.
