The discovery of a child’s diary entry has resulted in the arrest of David Lee Kinnison, 46, for kidnapping and child molestation. Kinnison was denied bond during his first hearing on October 17 and currently remains in Coweta County jail. The investigation is still ongoing.

Police suspect foul play of a missing 78-year-old man in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Daniel Kwon, a Korean immigrant, has been missing for more than a year. According to CBS8, Kwon was last seen near Sugarloaf Mills Mall on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

Kwon, who is known to have paraplegia, has to use his wheelchair every day. His handicap also requires him to take a daily dose of medications.  Atlanta News reports that police have identified a person of interest in Kwon’s disappearance. Investigators will release further information today during a news conference. In attendance will be his two daughters, who are pleading for help in bringing his father safely home.

A Georgia, Mableton man has been sentenced on Tuesday to 40 years in prison for the sexual exploitation and coercion of 150 girls. According to KTLA5,  25-year-old Benjamin Jenkins was convicted on January 16 for nine counts of producing child pornography and three counts for distributing it. Jenkins will be on supervised release and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, explains The New York Post.

Over a year after the case was officially closed, authorities re-opened their investigation into the mysterious death of Forsyth, Georgia resident Tamla Horsford on Tuesday. On November 3, 2018, Horsford attended an adult sleepover party for her friend’s birthday. The next morning, at 7:30 a.m., the 40-year-old mother was found laying unresponsive in her friend’s back yard. Following an autopsy, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office concluded that Horsford had fallen from a second-story balcony — thereby ruling the death an accident.

The three white men charged with the murder of a Black jogger in south Georgia pleaded not guilty Friday morning in Chatham County Superior Court, in a case that spurred a national outcry after cellphone video of the shooting appeared on the internet.

At least 1 defendant is requesting bail, citing COVID-19 concerns of being in jail.

Another wave of protests condemning police brutality against Black men and women occurred over the weekend following the Friday night death of 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta, Georgia, who was killed by two white police officers. Brooks, who was a young father, was shot and killed in a Wendy’s parking lot after being pulled over.

A father and son have been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault more than two months after a black man was shot to death as he jogged through their Georgia neighborhood.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced the arrest Thursday of Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son Travis McMichael, 34, for the Feb. 23 death of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery.

Authorities in Georgia have escalated the search for a missing Fort Valley State University student who was last seen on Valentine’s Day.

The search began Saturday when the family of 23-year-old Anitra Gunn reached out to police and said they had not heard from her for an “unusual amount of time,” the Fort Valley Police Department said.

Her car was found later that day damaged with a torn bumper near her apartment inside Fort Valley city limits, Fort Valley Chief Lawrence Spurgeon told CNN.
