A 77-year-old man from Fort Worth Texas, has been arrested for the 1974 murder of a teenage girl on Monday morning. According to CBS Austin, police arrested Glen McCurley and charged him with capital murder for the slaying of 17-year-old Carla Walker
On February 17, 1974, Carla and her boyfriend parked outside a bowling alley during a Valentine’s Day party. The Washington Post reports that McCurley pistol-whipped the boy and then kidnapped Carla from the parking lot. Three days later, she is found stuffed inside an underground tunnel near Lake Benbrook.

Doctors at a children’s hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, have sounded the alarm over concerns about a rise in alleged child abuse cases amid the coronavirus outbreak.
“We also saw similar types of things happen during the recession where, in our trauma department, the most common cause of trauma death in children was motor vehicle collisions. During the recession, that changed to abusive head trauma, and I don’t want to see that again,” Coffman noted.
