A Texas police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave after fatally shooting Jonathan Price on Saturday. Price was unarmed when he was shot outside of a Wolfe City convenience store. According to witnesses and family members, Price had been in the process of breaking up a domestic fight between a couple and tried to calmly explain his role in the situation when the police arrived.
Police have arrested and charged Abdullah Ibn El-Amin Jaamia with the fatal shooting of transgender woman Tracy “Mia” Green. El-Amin Jaamia claimed that his passenger, Mia Green, had been shot and he was rushing her to the hospital. Police escorted the vehicle to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, where 29-year-old Green died of a gunshot wound to her neck.
Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday night, Daisean Thomas Biffle shot and killed a woman in Jacksonville’s Amazon Fulfillment center before turning the gun on himself. Shortly after police arrived on the scene, Biffle was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition. Biffle was officially charged on Wednesday night with second-degree murder and will be transported to jail on a $750,000 bail once he recovers from his injuries.
