A Minnesota man was charged with two counts of third-degree murder after he caused an accident that took the lives of two young men.
James Blue, 51, was driving with Mack Motzko, 20, and Sam Schuneman, 24. The crash occurred on July 24th.
It was discovered that Blue was heavily under the influence at the time, having taken multiple shots of liquor and consuming gummies that contained THC, according to the NY Daily News.
The charges were updated recently, going from “two counts each of criminal vehicular operation with a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08% or more as well as criminal vehicular homicide for operating a vehicle in a grossly negligent manner,” to that of third-degree murder. It was also revealed that the two men who were killed had only met Blue at a restaurant roughly an hour before leaving with him.
