A San Francisco woman was pulled to her death by a train while still tethered to her dog.
According to HuffPost, San Francisco Medical examiner’s office have identified the woman as Amy Adams, 41. Adams was exiting the train at Powell Street Station when the doors closed in between Adams and her dog. Adams was tethered to her dog by a hands-free leash when the train began to move. Ms. Adams was pulled along by the train and onto the track. She passed away from her injuries. Adam’s dog was uninjured from the accident.
The terrible incident occurred on September 3rd at 3:16 p.m. SILIVE reports that “She appeared to be waving at someone. The train departed with the dog inside the train, and the woman was dragged and pulled into the track.”
The BART train that the victim had taken only authorized the use of service-animals while on the train. There were no visible signs that Adam’s dog was a service animal. BART Police and the National Transportation Safety Board are currently investigating the accident.
