A man from Roseville, Michigan was charged with manslaughter due to a toddler’s death.
According to Detroit News, Chase Dershem, 29, was charged with manslaughter and second-degree abuse last Wednesday after a 3 year old, left unattended, shot himself with Dershem’s gun. The three year old boy was the son of Dershem’s girlfriend. The young boy was believed to be playing with the gun when he was shot once. Dershem was arrested Wednesday night shortly after the shooting.
WXYZ reported that the young boy was rushed to the hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. Dershem’s bond was set at $50,000 by Judge Kathleen Tocco. The judge also order Dershem to wear a GPS monitoring device if released.
