A Louisiana 911 operator is wanted for allegedly hanging up on emergency callers.
On Thursday, September 2nd, The New Orleans Police announced via Facebook that they had acquired arrest warrants for Precious Stephens, 25. The suspect is wanted “on charges of malfeasance in office and interfering with an emergency communication.”
Stephens was working as a 911 operator with the New Orleans Parish Communications District. When it is reported, she began deliberately disconnecting emergency calls without gaining necessary emergency information or connecting to dispatchers for aid. According to NOLA, the district informed police on August 24th after investigating a random set of calls during Stephen’s shifts on August 20th and 21st.
