Oakland County police are asking for the public’s help in locating two young kids taken by their father.
The children, Avery Breckenridge, 1, and her brother Jaden, 9, are believed to be in danger.
Their mother told Oakland County Sheriff’s officials their father, Joshua Breckenridge took the kids around 11 a.m. Thursday.
He left their Independence Township home in his white 2003 GMC Yukon with no license plate.
Avery has a medical condition that causes seizures and her father didn’t take any of her medications with them.
According to The Detroit News, the children have been taken before.
Sheriff’s officials said in a statement, “Breckenridge has taken the children in the past. He is on probation for a domestic violence conviction and wears an electronic tether,” they continue, “He is not permitted to leave the state without permission of a judge. Oakland County prosecutors are expected to appear in court on Friday to ask a judge to revoke Breckenridge’s probation.”
The Detroit News reports Breckenridge may be headed to his mother’s home in Greenville, North Carolina.
Authorities believe he was driving south on Interstate 77 in Ripley, West Virginia around 5 p.m. Thursday.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Oakland County Sheriffs Office at (248) 858-4950.
