Rapper Londre Sylvester, also known as “KTS Dre”, was fatally shot over the weekend. He was just released from jail when he was ambushed and shot over 60 times.
Sylvester is one of the many recent victims of gun violence in Chicago. Over the past weekend, over 40 people were shot, 11 of these victims died.
Danielle Wallace for Fox News ascertained from a police report that Sylvester, “had just been released on electronic monitoring when he was fatally shot across the street from the Cook County Jail around 8:50 p.m. Saturday.”
He was originally arrested for breaking his bond conditions for an April 2020 weapons charge.
He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Although the attack on the rapper is suspected to be targeted, others in the area were shot. A 60-year-old woman was with Sylvester when she was shot in the knee, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Another woman, 30, suffered a graze wound to her chin but is in good condition.
After the fatal assault, the gunmen filed back into their cars and took off.
Chicago police are looking into surveillance footage from the area in hopes of catching Sylvester’s killers.
