Barkevious Mingo, a now former Atlanta Falcons linebacker was arrested on charges of indecency with a child-sexual contact.
Fox News reports Mingo allegedly tugged at a young boy’s underwear in a Texas hotel. The incident is said to have happened in 2019.
Over the Fourth of July weekend, Mingo took a teenage family member along with his friend to an amusement park. He then took the boys to dinner and a Nike store before returning to a hotel.
This is when Mingo reportedly had contact with the young man who was scared and pretended to be asleep.
Mingo’s attorney, Cris Lewis, believes the allegations against his client are baseless and he told ESPN he is “extremely disappointed in the Atlanta Falcons’ rush to judgement in terminating Barkevious Mingo’s contract before gathering all of the relevant facts and prior to my client having his day in court.”

The charge against Mingo carries a maximum sentence of 20 years according to ESPN. He was released on $25,000 bond.
