An arrest in a Texas shooting case has been made while Texas Police continue to search for a second.
KC Baker for People reports Xavier Davis, 28, was arrested on “an unrelated charge and then charged [him] with three counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.”
Davis allegedly lined the family on the couch before the fatal shooting. He’s since been denied bond according to ABC 13.
The family was killed at an apartment at 12101 Fondren Rd.
Their 10-year-old-daughter Lyric told her family a masked man knocked on the door and her father answered it, letting the man inside.
Lyric’s aunt Angela Ivrin told Click 2 Houston her niece is “very brave” and she told the shooter “he had the wrong apartment” before he took the baby and opened fire. The baby remained untouched.
Lyric said she played dead after beign shot in the arm. She FaceTimed her grandmother after the shooting who then called the police.
Manda Lagway, the grandmother, told KTRK, her granddaughter told her ‘Granny, my mom got shot. My dad got shot.’
Upon arrival, police found the 10-year-old’s parents Gregory Carhee, 35, and Gonyavia Lagway, 29, along with her 6-year-old sister, Harmony, fatally shot. The couple’s 8-year-old son was not at the apartment at the time of the shooting.
According to Click 2 Houston, there was also a one-year-old in the apartment. Apparently, the shooter took the baby from Carhee and set him on the couch before opening fire.
Detectives are working to find answers to this shooting using some surveillance footage from the area.
