A 28-year-old mother has been detained for questioning after her three young children were found dead in her family home in East Los Angeles, CA.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the 600 block of Ferris Ave. on Monday around 12:45 p.m. A family member had called authorities about two children who were “possibly not breathing”.
At the location, deputies found three children in a bedroom who were unresponsive and not breathing. Deputies and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but all three children were pronounced dead at the scene. The children were described as two boys and a girl, and all under the age of 3, says Lt. Chuck Calderaro.
Their cause of death is still unknown, but their 28-year-old mother was taken into custody for questioning as a person of interest. While she and another family were at home when authorities responded, the children’s father was not.
