On March 29th, 1982, 28-year-old Laney Lee McGadney left her Columbia, Md apartment and headed to the grocery store. However, later that day, her body was found in a vacant lot; she had been raped and stabbed. According to witnesses, McGadney was near Oakland Mills Road upon being kidnapped. Nearly 40 years later, McGadney’s killer has been caught.
Police received an unknown 911 call the day McGadney disappeared. They informed police about the location of her body; however, the case remained cold for nearly 40 years.
Due to the assistance of advanced technology, police managed to conduct a series of DNA tests on the evidence retrieved on March 29th, 1982. The results matched with one individual, Howard Jackson Bradberry Jr.
