Sasha Johnson, a prominent Black Lives Matter Activist, remains in critical condition after being shot in South London. The 27-year-old mother was shot in the head early Sunday morning, amid receiving numerous death threats, according to her political party Taking the Initiative (TTIP).
London’s Metropolitan Police have yet to confirm the name of the victim shot in the the South London street. They have also yet to uncover the nature of the shooting along with any potential suspect.
Sasha is a graduate of Oxford Brookes University and is a renowned figure at the forefront of the protests she organized across Britain last summer. She even founded a new black-led political party who express how she “has always been actively fighting for black people and the injustices that surround the black community,”.
Black Lives Matter UK held a vigil outside of the hospital Johnson is currently recovering in. While Sasha was not part of the organization, they posted on Twitter of their sympathies towards her and her family.
“Any attempt to intimidate or silence her, is an attack on all of us. Touch one, touch all.”
