Darriynn Brown was arrested Saturday night in connection with the murder of a four year old Dallas boy who was found dead early Saturday morning.
According to the police, the eighteen year old is facing numerous charges (including kidnapping and theft) and more are expected “pending results from a forensic analysis.”
The boy, who has not yet been identified to the public, was found dead early in the morning on Saturday in the Mountain Creek neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Police believe that the child was likely killed by Brown around 5:30 am with “an edged weapon” that caused a “violent” death of multiple wounds.
“We are shocked, we are very angry about what has happened to this small child,” Police spokesman Albert Martinez told the Dallas Morning News.
The four year old’s body was spotted by Antwainese Square while she was jogging in the area around 7 am on Saturday. Although she quickly realized what she had stumbled upon, Square had initially thought that the body belonged to a dog.
“That’s when I noticed the baby had ants at the bottom of his feet so I knew he was deceased then,” Square said. “It was heart-wrenching because this baby could have been no more than 5.”
Square reported that the child’s face had been covered in blood and that he was both shirtless and barefoot. “Very traumatizing,” Square told CBS 11 News. “I have three kids. To see a child covered in blood in the middle of the street, it’s truly traumatizing.”
