Police arrested a man on the border of Greece and Bulgaria in relation to the murder of a British mother.

Police arrested the suspect as he allegedly travelled by car from Greece to Bulgaria using a fake passport.

On May 11, Caroline Crouch slept alongside her husband Charalambos Anagostopoulos and their baby when burglars broke into their home near Athens. The three burglars tied up Crouch, 20, whilst they bound and gagged her husband, 32, as they searched the property in Glyka Nera. The suspects strangled the victim in front of her husband and baby.

According to LBC News, the DNA analysis linked the suspect from Georgia to a burglary in Pikermi on March 7. The man tied up an elderly couple whilst ransacking their home.

Anagostopoulos caught a glimpse of his wife’s murder. So police will show him mugshots of 30 suspects. Police believe the victim was strangled because she saw the burglars’ faces.

The Greek government announced a £260,000 reward for any information concerning the attack.
