Sarah Whitney Ganoe, 35, a mother from Virginia, currently faces murder charges for stabbing her infant son and injuring her 8-year-old daughter. The event occurred on Monday night when Newport police received a report of a woman being in distress.
Upon arriving at the scene, 10-year-old infant Zell Howard was pronounced dead; he had been stabbed numerous times. The 8-year-old, too, was found stabbed multiple times and escorted to the hospital. Her condition is reported as critical but stable.
According to People News, Ganoe was apprehended on Tuesday night and charged with “one count each second-degree murder and malicious wounding and two counts felony child neglect.”
Steve Drew, Ganoe’s fiancé, disclosed the threats he received from Ganoe on that horrific night. The threat described the crime, “[Ganoe] described the scene that he would see when he came home.”
At the moment, Ganoe is held in jail without bond, and it’s unclear whether she would ask for a plea deal or a lawyer. Ganoe’s motive remains unclear.
